Personality

Kyoto has always been my Artist.

When I first saw him, he was probably only about threemonths old. He walked up to me, lifted his paw, and offered it to me as if hewere saying:

“Hello. Are you going to be my person?”

Even as a puppy, there was something very special about him.Kyoto was elegant, intelligent, and naturally refined, but at the same timesensitive, creative, expressive, and full of personality.

He spent part of his early life around the theatre world inMoscow, and sometimes I honestly believe he must have learned a few things fromthe actors.

Because if there is one dog who knows how to perform,it is Kyoto.

He does not simply react to a situation.

He turns it into a scene.

If he does not like something, there is absolutely no chanceyou will miss it. Kyoto does not communicate only through body language. Hetalks.

“Yoo-yoo-yoo…”

And from the tone alone, you immediately understand therest:

“No. No. No. Leave me alone.”

When he was younger, there were moments when I honestly didnot know what to do with him.

My sensitive artist had an opinion about everything.

And naturally, he always found a way to express it.

One of my favourite stories about Kyoto happened during afamily holiday by a lake. Of course, Mr. Artist came swimming with us.

Everything was perfectly fine near the shore.

The shallow water was also acceptable.

Then we decided to go a little deeper.

Naturally, I carried Kyoto in my arms.

He looked around, understood the situation, and apparentlydecided:

the performance could begin.

And then came the famous Shiba scream.

Not just a little protest.

A full theatrical production.

I looked directly into his eyes and could clearly see thatabsolutely nothing was wrong with him.

But the sound…

The echo across the lake…

The acoustics…

Kyoto seemed to realize very quickly that this was anexcellent stage.

Within moments, people started gathering around us, lookingat me as if I were doing something terrible to the poor dog.

Kyoto, of course, continued his performance.

Then we returned to shore.

And suddenly?

The tragic hero disappeared.

He was immediately jumping around happily, playing, andlooking extremely pleased with himself.

Almost as if he were saying:

“Thank you. Thank you. Wonderful audience.”

That is Kyoto.

But behind the comedian and actor has always been anexceptionally intelligent, elegant, and dignified Shiba Inu.

He can be very serious.

He can work beautifully.

He can carry himself with an almost royal dignity.

And he knows exactly when it is time to be elegant.

But he also knows exactly how to turn an ordinary momentinto a complete theatrical production.

Kyoto is a very sensitive dog. He pays close attention topeople, moods, and everything happening around him. He is not the kind of dogyou simply command and expect to obey without thinking.

With Kyoto, you build a relationship.

You understand him.

And sometimes you negotiate with him.

Because, naturally, Mr. Artist has his own ideas.

After almost ten years together, countless memories and manyadventures connect us.

Many dogs have been part of my life, and each of them hasgiven me something different.

Kyoto taught me that a Shiba Inu personality can be muchmore than words such as intelligent, proud, or sensitive can describe.

He has character.

Kyoto is an elegant gentleman, a sensitive artist, a seriouschampion, and a natural-born actor all at the same time.

And after all these years, I still see him exactly the sameway:

he is my Artist.

A dog who makes sure that life is never boring.
