How to Bring Home a Furuisugi Shiba

Bringing a Shiba Inu into your life is a commitment of fifteen years or more. Our application process is designed to ensure that every puppy goes to the right home — and that every family is ready for the journey ahead.

Step 1: Learn About Our Kennel

Explore our website. Read about our philosophy, our dogs, and our health testing. Follow us on social media. We want you to feel confident that Furuisugi is the right kennel for you — and we want to feel confident that you are the right family for one of our puppies.

Step 2: Submit an Application

Fill out the application form below. Tell us about yourself, your home, your experience with dogs, and why a Shiba Inu is the right breed for you. There are no wrong answers — we simply want to get to know you.

Step 3: Initial Conversation

After we review your application, we will reach out for a conversation. This is a chance for us to answer your questions and for both of us to decide if we are a good match. We are happy to do this by phone, video call, or in person.

Step 4: Waiting List / Reservation

If we agree to move forward, you will be placed on our waiting list. When a litter is confirmed and puppies are born, we will contact you. A reservation deposit secures your place on the list.

Step 5: Puppy Matching

We do not assign puppies on a first-come, first-served basis. We match puppies to families based on temperament, energy level, and lifestyle. You will have the opportunity to meet the puppies (in person or by video) before finalising your choice.

Step 6: Puppy Pickup & Lifetime Support

Puppies go home at eight to ten weeks of age, microchipped, vaccinated, and health-checked. You will receive a puppy packet with health records, feeding instructions, and a lifetime of support from us. We are always just a phone call away.
