Personality

Fujin is a truly special young Shiba Inu male:intelligent, proud, curious, and naturally dignified. He is extremely smart —and he knows it. He understands situations very quickly, constantly observeshis surroundings, and very little escapes his attention.

There always seems to be a lot going on in his mind at thesame time. Because of this, his attention can sometimes appear scattered, especially when there are many things happening around him. This does not comefrom fear. Fujin simply wants to notice everything, respond to every sound, andunderstand what is happening in his environment. It is important to him to feelthat everything around him is under control.

By nature, he is calm, balanced, and remarkablyself-possessed. He tends to be a one-person type of dog and is very selectiveabout who he allows close to him. He does not particularly enjoy people who areoverly loud, intense, pushy, or emotionally chaotic. If he does not likesomeone’s energy, Fujin rarely makes a dramatic protest. Instead, he may simplysit down, turn his back, or completely ignore the person as though they do notexist.

The same sensitivity can be seen when working with him.Fujin does not respond well to impatience, frustration, or pressure. If hesenses tension in the person handling him, his expression almost seems to say, “Youare not going to speak to me like that.” He may simply wait until theperson relaxes, takes a breath, and approaches him again with a calmerattitude.

The moment the person’s energy changes, Fujin often changeswith them. When he is approached calmly, respectfully, and confidently, hebecomes cooperative and willing to work together. He is highly sensitive tohuman mood, body language, and energy.

Traditional training is usually quite easy for him. Helearns quickly and understands what is expected of him, which also means thatrepetitive exercises can become boring very fast. Fujin prefers activities thatare engaging, varied, and mentally stimulating — especially when he feels thathe is actively involved rather than simply repeating commands.

And there is one world where Fujin truly comes alive: the dog show world.

For him, grooming, preparation, and entering the show ringare much more than simple routines. Fujin visibly enjoys the entire process. Heloves being worked with slowly and calmly, being brushed, massaged, groomed, spoken to, praised, and admired. You can almost see the moment when herealizes, “Yes, this is all about me now.”

After a bath and grooming session, he carries himself like adog who knows exactly how good he looks. He seems genuinely proud of his clean, shiny coat and behaves as though he fully expects everyone else to notice ittoo.

His excitement before entering the show ring is especiallyobvious. When he realizes that preparations have started and that he will soonbe showing, he becomes curious, energetic, focused, and eager to participate. He enjoys working together, moving, receiving attention, and having theopportunity to present himself.

The show ring is where Fujin’s almost royal side trulyappears.

There, his natural confidence, elegance, and dignity comeforward. He enjoys being looked at, admired, and praised. He notices whenpeople are impressed by him, and he seems completely comfortable with theattention.

His attitude could almost be summed up as:

“Yes, I know I am beautiful. That is why we are here.”

Around children, Fujin is more cautious and thoughtful. Hedoes not always seek close interaction with them because their movements andbehaviour can be unpredictable, and he prefers situations he can clearlyunderstand. Rather than approaching immediately, he usually keeps a comfortabledistance and observes.

This is very typical of Fujin. He does not need to be in themiddle of every situation to know exactly what is happening.

He also has his own rules. Expectations that may applyeasily to many other dogs do not always apply automatically to him. Fujin likesto make his own decisions about when and how he interacts.

And yet, there are moments when he seems to sense thatsomeone needs him. Then, completely on his own, he may come closer, leanagainst you, cuddle, and show a surprisingly gentle and affectionate side.

Fujin is not a dog who follows blindly.

He watches.               Hethinks.            He evaluates.         Hedecides.

And when he decides to work with you, he does it with hisfull presence.

Perhaps this is what makes his personality so fascinating.Fujin combines the independence of the Shiba Inu with intelligence, sensitivity, curiosity, confidence, and an almost royal sense of self.

He does not simply enjoy being shown.

For Fujin, the show ring is the place where he can trulyshow the world who he is.
